How Advanced Personalization And Digital Transformation Supports Hotel Olymp’s Growth

Hotel Olymp Munich (formerly known as Golden Tulip Olymp) is a renown family owned, four star property nestle in the lovely village Eching. Close to the Munich Airport and just outside the Bavarian capital, it caters for business travelers and leisure guests from around the globe. The hotel has also four meeting rooms, a modern event location and is among the best restaurants in the area.
The Hotel has gone through a full digital transformation over the past two years, starting from a rebrand and infrastructure carve-out from Golden Tulip onto a dedicated digital landscape. The Convert Commerce team has provided digital advisory since 2017 to the board and have been an integral part of the rebrand, digital strategy and re-launch of Olymp Munich. In 2020, as part of the carve out, we’ve build a new website on WordPress, integrating the Hotel booking service DIRS21 and the Restaurant booking service Gastronovi.
A year later, a Shopify store to offer additional services to guests, such as gift- and dining vouchers, as well as products or services as part of seasonal campaigns had been added. This additional channel has been leading to an increase in service revenue and enhanced the customer experience due to ease of booking and paying online. Convert Commerce has been creating, leading and supporting the digital strategy throughout, managing Paid Advertising (PPC) campaigns, eMail Marketing support and driving enhanced personalisation through data analysis and optimisation across the channels.
Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, there had been significant drops in bookings due to government advised restrictions, yet the average bookings at the Hotel Olymp Munich were 20% higher than similar hotels in the area during this period. The quality of customer data has been significantly enhanced, allowing advanced personalisation of customer communication, resulting in higher engagement and generated revenue.
Convert Commerce has been working for more than four years with the owner, Christopher Riemensperger, and the wonderful team at the Hotel Olymp and we continue to go from strength to strength in this long-standing partnership.
